Even though they are not rich in high-tech. materials, they can be proud of the richness in their settings. It will not hard for them to find food.

The Cordillera Autonomous Region has a beautiful literary works. You can also see in their literary works how they see their region. Biag ni Lam-ang

The story of Biag ni Lam-ang is very unique story. It is different from other stories because of its characters and the flow of the story. The characters in the story are Namongan and Don Juan, the parents of Lam-ang; Lam-ang is the main character in the story and he is a baby boy with power; Ines Kannoyan is the fiance of Lam-ang; the rooster and the dog. Some incident or scene in the story is far in the reality or unbelievable. Like when Lam-ang is newly born, he has the power to speech and he has unusual physical form. when he fought the Igorot to revenge for his father's death at the age of 9 months. When the river turned black and the fishes dies because of the dirt of his hair and foul odor of his body. When he bring his rooster and made it crow and he made his dog growl just to impress the beautiful maiden named Ines. And lastly is when his bones put together just to live him again.
The story shows the Ilocos different tradition, culture and beliefs. And how they live and survive before, where they get their foods and clothes. It also show how they court the woman they like.
I enjoyed the story ofBiag ni Lam-ang because of its unique story, but i know that some of the happenings in the story is just a fantasy. I also learned some of the tradition and culture of Ilocos region. I can also say that the story is adventurous bucause of Lam-ang's adventure to find his father. I think and I hope that the Ilocos use and preserve their tradition and culture tackle in the story until now.
